Skyline Genesis Event Marketing, a leading New York City based trade show exhibit and event marketing company, is using its expertise in event promotion and marketing to help with the hunt for treatment and a cure for Spinal Muscular Atrophy, a devastating genetic disease. “We’ve come to know about this crippling disease from within our company family and we want to rally together in support and do what we can to help” stated Glenn Diehl, president of Skyline Genesis.
Rose Mercuro, ten year old daughter of Skyline Genesis Senior Account Executive Al Mercuro, is currently battling SMA. The courage she exhibits in her daily struggles and her strength and positive outlook have inspired many people in her short life. Among those touched by this special young lady is author Allen St. John who dedicated his book, The Billion Dollar Game: Behind the Scenes of the Greatest Day in American Sport - Super Bowl Sunday, to Rose. His dedication reads “For Rose Mercuro, a giant in all the ways that count.”
In an initial effort to raise awareness and financial support, Skyline Genesis sponsored StandingCyclist.com’s Frank Cavaluzzi in an 89 mile seatless bike ride dedicated to the SMA cause. Cavaluzzi’s inspiration for the ride came from song lyrics that Rose wrote from a place of strength where many people dare not enter. The 12 hour cycling event, which began in Seneca Falls, NY, took place on October 23, 2011. Cavaluzzi’s route ran along the eastern shore of Seneca Lake, over to the south western shore of Cayuga Lake, then back to the south shore of Seneca Lake and up the entire western shore to Geneva, NY. “This event’s success is due to the inspiration I received from reading song lyrics by a young girl battling SMA and the support from Skyline Genesis” Cavaluzzi stated.
Details on the cycling event can be found at http://www.standingcyclist.com/istand4rose2011.html. Information about Spinal Muscular Atrophy and donation information can be found on the Families of SMA web site at http://www.fsma.org/GiftReg/dsp_donationPage.cfm?AppealCode=REGOTHE11&idUser=11364.
Since the cycling event in October, Skyline Genesis has continued to make efforts to raise awareness and funds by utilizing its expertise in promotions and marketing. “This disease has touched our hearts and this cause is near and dear to us” Diehl added.

Skyline Genesis Event Marketing, a leading New York City based trade show exhibit and event marketing company, attended the recent 2011 NACS Show (National Association of Convenience Stores) with two of their clients, Nestle Waters North America and Vita Coco. “It’s interesting that both of these clients’ booths had some connection to water and we were able to make a big splash for them at this show” stated Glenn Diehl, president of Skyline Genesis.
The Nestle Waters exhibit is a double deck structure featuring two meeting rooms, 4 projection screens and 7 product display stations each highlighting the variety of beverage brands marketed by Nestle Waters, NA. The exhibit also included a very large, four sided, hanging banner structure which was visible throughout the exhibit hall. According to Jim Donker, VP Marketing for Nestle Waters, NA, “this was our best trade show ever and our best trade show exhibit ever.”
The Vita Coco exhibit, a 20x20 exhibit, features sampling stations and a 10x10 sand pit for beach volleyball. “We are very pleased. Skyline Genesis hit the nail on the head with this design,” stated Jeff Rubenstein, VP Consumer Marketing for Vita Coco. He added, “We plan on expanding our trade show program in 2012.” Glenn Diehl commented “it’s not every day you see a beach volleyball game in Chicago, indoors.”
The 2011 NACS Show (National Association of Convenience Stores) was held in Chicago, Illinois at McCormick Place. This show is one of the largest shows in North America each year filling both the North and South trade show halls at McCormick Place. Over 1,200 exhibitors represent a true cross-section of consumer products, virtually anything you would find in a convenience store.

Skyline Genesis Event Marketing, the New York based authorized dealer for Skyline Exhibits, will be hosting a free seminar and lunch for event marketers and exhibitors involved in consumer and trade shows in the New York metropolitan area. Attendees will have an opportunity to hear “60 Trade Show Tips” from Glenn Diehl, president of Skyline Genesis Event Marketing (SkyGEM) while enjoying a complimentary luncheon at Crowne Plaza White Plains on Thursday, September 22nd, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
"In today's economy, stretching exhibitor budgets is crucial," stated Diehl. "At SkyGEM, we have been compiling scores of useful tips on ways to reduce costs when exhibiting at consumer expos and business trade shows. We have now developed them into this helpful, no charge, no sales pitch seminar to help busy exhibitors save time and money, so they can maximize their ROI and minimize out-of-pocket. Our '60 Trade Show Tips' educational seminar will condense years of knowledge into a highly productive 90-minute lunch and learn."
During his 24 years with Skyline Inc., Glenn Diehl's roles have ranged from Director of Sales Training to National Sales Manager at Skyline corporate headquarters in Minnesota, as well as General Manager of Skyline South in Atlanta.
In addition to learning fantastic tips and valuable knowledge to become more successful exhibitors, attendees will receive two great gifts: The first is the 68-page book, "Trade Show Marketing Kit," jam-packed with tips, shortcuts and helpful planning worksheets. The second is the new 48-page "Booth Staffing Guidebook" which is loaded with articles, worksheets, and checklists to help trade show exhibitors better pick, train, and inspire their booth staff to new levels of performance.
