Thief strikes Linear’s trade show booth: Was it personal?

LONG BEACH, Calif. – What if the trade show started and most of your booth was missing? That’s what happened to Linear Mold & Engineering (Livonia, Mich.), a designer and manufacturer of injection molds that also specializes in metal 3D printing, which has become big business for the company. On May 19, when the Linear team went to the trade show floor of the RAPID 2015 exposition and conference in Long Beach, they were dismayed to find that someone had made off with most of their booth.

Los Angeles showing 3 LACC design options to public

LOS ANGELES -- As an integral next step in the “Expansion and Futurization Project” for the Los Angeles Convention Center (LACC), the city of Los Angeles, led by the L.A. Department of Convention and Tourism Development and the Bureau of Engineering, spearheaded a design competition to select an architect for the proposed renovation and expansion of the center. Three final teams were selected and their work is now on public display through June 4.

Oakland to choose developer to restore shuttered Henry J. Kaiser CC

OAKLAND, Calif. – Michael Morgan gazed wistfully across the Calvin Simmons Theatre, the concert hall in the Henry J. Kaiser Convention Center where the maestro for years skillfully guided ensembles. The auditorium would normally be filled with natural light from the arched alcoves facing Lake Merritt, but for years it’s been empty and dark, its windows boarded up to prevent more vandalism.
