The tapes are available from Display Supply & Lighting Inc. (DS&L) in 12 standard colors. Custom colors are available in minimum manufacturing run sizes. Light Tape functions by activating a phosphor layer with an alternating current to consistently illuminate a surface area.

Light Tape can be used flat or bent in a radius as small as 2mm. A sustainable solution, Light Tape contains no glass or gas and generates no heat. Light Tape has an encapsulating barrier with a UL V-1 anti-burn rating as well as an anti-graffiti and chemical-resistant properties.

Compared with other EL technologies, Light Tape is 2.5 times brighter at the same current. Light Tape typically lasts 10,000 to 30,000 hours, depending on the brightness selected. It is available as an indoor or outdoor product.
