TAMPA, Fla. – The head of the Tampa Convention Center resigned March 5, citing health reasons.
John Moors, who took over the reins of the center in 2000, said he will miss the job. “I had a marvelous time working for the city and the facility,” he said. “The staff is fabulous, second to none.”
Tampa Mayor Pam Iorio said Moors has done “an outstanding job for the convention center and the city.” She add, “Things have constantly gotten better under his watch.”
Moors cited a “personal medical condition” as the reason for resigning. His resignation takes effect March 8.
