We've reported on the 3D TV plans from key HDTV vendors at the recent CES 2010 tradeshow in Las Vegas. Now, Samsung is walking the talk by going into actual production of such compatible panels. The initial batch will be available in six versions from 40 to 46 and 55 inches, as well as traditional LCD and LED-lit varieties. They're based on the use of 3D active glasses, with the panel operating at 240 frames-per-second (fps) which doubles the minimum requirement of 120fps for Blu-ray 3D.

On the other hand, Samsung has managed to shave another 20 percent off its panel's response time to 4ms, which helps eliminate interference between left- and right-eyed images, according to its press release. As reported earlier, the company will be releasing its 3D TVs for Asia within this year and we should be able to provide more information closer to launch. Do check back for updates.
